Everything we cook is handcrafted, using traditional Cajun recipes. Richard’s Cajun Foods was founded in Church Point, LA in 1981 by Lonnie Richard who realized his Grandma’s Cajun specialties were becoming a Cajun favorite.

The Richard’s Cajun family traditions and Grandma’s recipes live on today using high-quality, premium ingredients and source as much as we can locally in Louisiana.

We are proud to be the original Cajun sausage company in Church Point and look forward to being a Cajun favorite for years to come.

Here is where it all started! When Grandma Richard started making Cajun sausage from her own recipe in the back of the small family grocery store, word spread fast.

Lonnie Richard had the idea to start delivering the sausage to insatiable customers, and Richard’s Cajun Foods was born.

Buggy Festival Grounds
Church Point is known as the Buggy Capital of the World, and this square is where folks show off their best Buggies at the Buggy Festival. Think of it as a car show but with less noise and more food.
Rougarou Sightings
A Rougarou (Roo-Ga-Roo) is a famous Acadian creature similar to a werewolf. Many Church Point residents say he lurks in the bayou at night, looking for boudin!
“The Spot”
Locals say that this exact spot in Church Point is the best place for a boil in the entire world. Something about the elevation, pressure, air quality, and magnetic fields makes this EXACT spot scientifically superior to anywhere on earth.
Church Point City Park
This beautiful location in the heart of Church Point is also the home of “Cajun Woodstock”. The festival features incredible food, music, art, and rides to benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
The Sausage Loop
One of the best-known routes that was used to deliver Grandma Richard’s incredible sausages to hungry customers. They say if you walk the route at night, you can still smell the spices in the air!
